Above the Clouds

Come with me
over land, over sea
where we will be,
above the clouds
for moments. Just a few.

The horizon in view,
only gray, white, blue.
The unusual hue
of being aloft.
Dark of space within view.

Ears pop with the altitude.
We feel a change in attitude.
But it won’t change our aptitude
for a vertical stance
and touching the ground.

In flight or grounded
We see the sound it
Is heavy and pounded
In our eyes
now the clouds have a rift

But the skies they lift
The horizon’s a gift
We see it and don’t drift
From that line
to repeat from time to time

Gravity always wins.
Gravity always wins.
Gravity always wins.
