The Sky

If sleep were a magic carpet
I would go for a night bound ride
Into a world of wonder
into a star scattered sky

If dreams were sailboats on the sea
Among waves of calm or wild
I’d call to the water to hold us
Every nautical mile

We are made of stars
We are made of the sea
This time of wonder is ours
see me flee to the sky
and fly to the sea
We are destined to be
poetry

If pillows were misty clouds
Where I could lay my weary crown
My destiny would be the galaxy
With silvery stars all around

If i could see through the dark of night
From my boat afloat and my seafaring crew
I would shake myself from my fuzzy headed sleep
And wake up next to you.

We are made of stars
We are made of the sea
This time of wonder is ours
see me flee to the sky
and fly to the sea
We are destined to be
poetry
